New Volunteer Activity

Assisting Immigrants with Asylum Applications

There is a critical need for bilingual volunteers to assist asylum seekers in completing their asylum applications, a process that does not require an attorney, but will be reviewed by an attorney. I- 589 applications must be completed in English.

Volunteers must be proficient or fluent in English and another language (Spanish being in highest demand) as well as have patience and empathy. They will be provided with a toolkit which includes training and resources to help with the process. Security. Support will be provided as needed throughout the process.

Court Watch

Online training Tuesday, Sept. 23rd from 1- 2:30pm, presented by the San Francisco Bar Association specifically for the San Francisco courts. Participation will be limited to 100. If you are interested in attending, RSVP with name, email address and phone number.

Fortunately, there are an adequate number of observers currently volunteering in Concord. Let us know if you would like to be on a waiting list for a future training session when the need arises.
