Court Watch! Training for San Francisco webinar
Online training Tuesday, Sept. 23rd from 1- 2:30pm, presented by the San Francisco Bar Association specifically for the San Francisco courts. In addition to providing a general introduction to immigration courtroom procedures, attendance is a prerequisite for those who plan to volunteer as court observers in San Francisco.

“Know Your Rights” In the Workplace Workshop
The Know Your Rights for the Workplace training will prepare employers, employees, and community members to understand what our rights and responsibilities are if immigration agents visit your office, business or facility. We will also cover how to develop policies to address immigration agent interactions at the workplace and tips for navigating immigration enforcement raids.

Court Watch! Training for San Francisco webinar
Presented by the Justice and Diversity Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco, this webinar will explain how citizens’ courtroom observations play an important role in helping protect immigrants undergoing judicial determination of their status. Additionally, such participation helps keep an eye on government efforts to subvert due process and assist ICE actions. The East Bay Sanctuary Covenant and Friends of La Peña will lead a condensed Know-Your-Rights training.

Through her vibrant photo-paintings of family, Mabel Valdiviezo’s full-length documentary "Prodigal Daughter” offers a unique perspective on the immigrant experience. It explores the intersections of family reconnection, gendered migration, mental health, and art as a source of empowerment. At its heart, “Prodigal Daughter” challenges the prevailing narrative of 'good immigrant' versus 'bad immigrant,' presenting a deeper, more nuanced story of migration, identity, and belonging.

Special event: Teatro Jornalero
A group of Central American and Mexican day laborers in Fruitvale formed the Teatro Jornalero/Day Laborers Theater, breaking through the safety of silence to share their stories with the wider public. In this multi-lingual documentary theater performance, they reveal not only their own intimate histories and hopes, but also deep cultural roots, and the tragic effects of global forces on their lives.
